Susanna Genot

Clinical Psychologist
PhD (ClinPsych)

Picture
I have been working as a clinical psychologist in private practice in Australia for many years, after a career as a lecturer in psychology at a university in South Africa. Since moving to Merimbula in 2001 I have worked in the local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service for a few years before opening a private practice.

I see people from the whole lifespan, using a holistic and existentialist framework for understanding human dilemmas. I apply best practice approaches, such as:

  • cognitive behavioural therapy,
  • interventions based on attachment theory,
  • systemic family therapy,
  • identity, self-development and individuation.

I have a particular interest in neuropsychology and evolutionary psychology.

I am able to work with a wide range of emotional problems, including anxiety, depression, trauma, childhood sexual abuse, parenting problems, relationship- and family problems.

I am available for appointments from Wednesdays to Fridays.
